[UN INSTANT]

(an instant.)
to see – on June 21st, in the evening, I entered my bedroom, and the sun had thrown shadows onto my wall: the tree behind the house framed by my window. It was a peculiar light. I took my camera to catch those last glimpses of sunlight falling in. And then they disappeared.

to hear – the interval of a major third down played in a specific rhythm resembles the call of a cuckoo. Morton Feldman’s elegy »Madame Press died last week at ninety« is built upon the repetitive motif of a cuckoo call, with harmonies changing underneath. Intrigued by Feldman’s piece, I composed a little response to it as a sort of «coucou !» .
