The EP SINGALONGS consists of four compositions for five to eight voices created by Johanna Ackva and Philipp Enders.
Exploring ways to freely transpose the French surrealist writing method cadavre exquis (Exquisite corpse) to music composition, these songs were made by following a protocol of singing along to an existing piece of music first and then to the thereby created voices. Shaping these voices through layering and arranging is the final step.

The SINGALONG-protocol is part of Johanna and Philipp’s research project Zweitlandschaften, a project situated between amateur song and choreography.

L’EP SINGALONGS se compose de quatre morceaux pour cinq à huit voix crées par Johanna Ackva et Philipp Enders.
Explorant des manières de transposer la méthode d’écriture surréaliste «cadavre exquis» à la composition musicale, ces chansons ont été créées selon un protocole consistant à chanter d’abord sur une musique existante, puis sur les voix ainsi créées. La mise en relief de chaque morceau par superposition et arrangement des voix constitue l’étape finale du processus.

Leur protocole du singalong s’inscrit dans le projet de recherche de Johanna et Philipp, Zweitlandschaften, qui se situe entre le chant d’amateur·ice et la chorégraphie.
